“Love
Never Fails” begins with a calm, suspenseful trill on the flugelhorn
then grows in intensity until the high E in the trumpet at the very end.
It begins slow and low and over a period of three and a half minutes
develops exciting dynamic contrasts, higher trumpet calls and flashy
rhythms in the end.
It
is a serious work intended for recitals and concerts. “Love Never
Fails” was premiered in 2007 by Consort Immanuel on their Sacred Brass
concert.
